Southern California Tsunami Low-Lying Flood Areas
Dark red areas on the map are areas 30 feet above sea level or less. These areas should be evaluated in any very large SOCAL Tsunami warning. Any very large Southern California earthquake which displaces water under the ocean, due to landslides or up and down lift in the sea floor is a good reason for evacuation. People will only have minutes to evacuate from the dangerous coastal regions in the event of a large and close produced tsunami. Use this map as reference ONLY!
Official California Tsunami Inundation run-up maps can be downloaded at this site.
