The U.S. state of Arizona currently has eight congressional districts. In the 111th Congress, the 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th and 8th congressional districts have Democratic representatives, while the 2nd, 3rd and 6th congressional districts are represented by Republicans.
Districts 1 and 2 are located in sparsely populated rural areas of the state, while districts 3, 4, 5 and 6 are clustered around Arizona's main population center of Phoenix and its suburbs. Districts 7 and 8 comprise large swaths of rural southern Arizona and the Tucson metropolitan area.
