The airport covers 4,929 acres (1,995 ha) and operates three runways, providing direct service to more than 45 domestic and international destinations on more than 240 daily flights. In 2007, over 10 million passengers traveled through the airport.[1] This Governance and oversight of the airport facilities and operations is shared by the RDU Airport Authority, the counties of Wake and Durham, and the cities of Raleigh and Durham.
